The Civic Parade is one of the highlights of Adivay Festival. It was held last Friday November 23, 2012, this is the part where all the different leaders of the 13 municipalities of Benguet came and participated in the festivity through the parade. They are joined by the officials of the Barangays of the municipalities, the different government offices, the different schools, the different non-government groups, and the common people. The parade started at the Benguet Capitol and ended at the Benguet Sports Complex in Wangal La Trinidad. This year’s Civic Parade has the more people who joined so far.
After the Civic Parade, the “Depap” followed, it is cultural activity wherein bunch of people are tasked to catch a pig or pigs placed inside a round fence for their municipalities. When they caught one the winner will be announced and so on, after that the mayors of the different municipalities would butcher the pig by putting a stick on the heart of the pig, this is called the “Iwik”, and they will have the cultural dance called the “Tayaw” to celebrate the blessings from God. This was followed by the community lunch, people would go to their respective municipalities and share the food, and dance the tayaw. A great Adivay Festival.
